I’LL BE HOME FOR CHRISTMAS
Words and music by Buck Ram, Walter Kent, and Kim Gannon
Description from
Since Les Paul, many recording artists have doubled (and tripled) their own voices and instruments on their recordings. Eric Wrobbel has been doing this since the 1960s, recording anonymously, pseudonymously, and, rarely, under his own name. Regardless of band name or credit, he is sometimes the only person on these multi-layered recordings.
Such is the case here on this Christmas classic, featuring home movie footage of Christmases past and a rare on-screen appearance by Wrobbel himself. His goofy humor is hidden right in front of the viewer's eyes: he not only sings all the parts on this a cappella recording, he plays them onscreen as well. Quoting Wrobbel: “I have to do everything around here.”
