360 Systems DigiCart introductory ad, c.1990. This ad announced a product not yet ready to ship. Repeated delays were making buyers skeptical that the DigiCart would ever ship. How better to combat the skepticism than to show a bunch of DigiCarts leaving the factory on a truck? This was possible because of the convenient fact that the shipping boxes were ready even if the product wasn't. The boxes are empty; the product shown, a prototype. https://www.ericwrobbel.com/art/360digicartishere.htm

The DigiCart Is Here. Not.

Like one of the other products in these pages, this ad announces a product not yet actually ready to ship. Repeated delays were making buyers skeptical that the product would ever ship. How better to combat the skepticism than to show a bunch of DigiCarts leaving the factory on a truck? This was possible because of the convenient fact that the shipping boxes were ready even if the product wasn’t. I designed the shipping box, the ad, and the product’s logo, as well as assisting with the product’s front panel design, this ad copy, and photo art direction.
